Dr. Ellen Weissman is a Licensed Psychologist (PSY 24880) working in private practice. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology: Los Angeles (Alliant International University). Her program had an emphasis in Individual, Family, and Child Psychology with a special emphasis on Couples.
Dr. Weissman’s clinical training involved treating children, “at risk” youth and adults, sex offenders, homebound adults, and older adults. Throughout her clinical training and career, she has worked with the chronically mentally ill adult population treating mood, trauma, co-occurring (i.e. substance), anxiety, personality, delusional, and psychotic disorders. Her recent work has involved providing psychological assessments of Veterans.
Dr. Weissman worked for over a decade at Ventura County Behavioral Health (VCBH). She has spent seven years training doctoral students on how to administer, interpret, and write reports. She also supervised these students on their clinical skills. While working at VCBH she served on the Ventura County Medical Center Psychology Department Committee in numerous faculties, including Member at Large, Chief-Elect, Chief, and Past-Chief. While Chief, she also served on the Ventura County Medical Center Executive Committee.
Dr. Weissman accepts Aetna, Medicare, and private pay.
